Nee How Mah? (That's a phonetical way of saying hello in Chinese.)

Just got back from Taiwan. In OKC for 36 hours. Now we're off to Romania for three seminars and Thanksgiving holiday with family. (And my birthday!)

McDonald's advertising has sunk its teeth. "Paula, where would you like to eat?" I could pick Charlestons, Olive Garden, or even the most expensive restaurant in Oklahoma City. He would really take me wherever I pick. I am shocked and slightly appalled at the words that come out of my mouth, "McDonald's. Let's go to McDonald's tonight."

McDonald's?!?! I don't even really like McDonald's. The fries are never hot enough (or too hot!), the hamburgers get lost in your mouth cause they're so small...and the grease!

However, I'm unashamed. I'm collecting Monopoly pieces. If you would like to help me, please send them to:

We leave bright and early for the island of Taiwan. This will not be like our trip to the island of Hawaii earlier this year. Robert has ten seminars in twelve days, and I get to sit on the front row and make faces and blow kisses. I wonder how many different faces I can make in sixty hours of sitting.

After two weeks, we fly back to Oklahoma for one day, and then are off again to Romania. Considering that Taiwan and Romania are on opposite sides of the globe, I wonder what kind jet lag we'll have...or what type of crossbreed of Chinese and European parasites we'll get. What would you call them? Romanese?

The trip to Romania is not all play, either...two or three seminars AND Thanksgiving AND my birthday...all in one week. This time we get to meet all the Romanian head educators. They seem to always be impressed with Robert. Last time they were wanting to introduce him to their daughters...and granddaughters.

For those interested in an update, we are making headway on the 2007 CharacterFirst calendar (you should have seen Robert and me trying to make a sandcastle in the photo studio...it turned out INCREDIBLE, but we sure made a mess on the nice black felt.) <heh> Funnest day at work I've ever had!

We planted some bulbs (daffodils and hyacinths) the other day. Fall is coming quickly, and humidity is becoming extinct. "What a blessing." (As Summer Hill would often say.)

It's my day off. It's nice to have a day off. I usually cook and freeze our dinners on this day, but after counting enough meals in the freezer to last another month, I decided that overzealous cooking was out. Besides, there is little room left in the freezer for a stash of ice-cream.

So here I sit - writing a blog to the unknown world of xanga. The obvious appearance of comments makes me think that maybe I'm missing something. People actually read these. My hat's off to you, O diligent Xanga readers. I'm still trying to keep up with the pony express e-mails.

Oh, and for those who wonder if I still like Robert. <heh> I only wish I'd known him 10 years ago.

For those who are interested in reading an update, life has been going very well. We just got back from Brazil earlier this week...and are still waiting for our luggage. <grin> They don't allow the usual "emergency make-up kits" on the airplane because of gels and liquids...and then they  have the audacity to lose the luggage. <chuckle> Poor airline people. They are just doing their job - and people still give them a hard time. I'm just grateful that if we had to lose luggage - it was after the trip! (The Brazilians would wonder if Americans had only one set of clothes.)

The school we visited has 7,000 students, and they have taken Character First by storm. This trip was for them to invite other school officials from throughout Brazil to be trained and become aware of the program. I was proud of Robert for doing such a great job. I didn't even mind the question that came to him afterwards, "Wow, this is wonderful...are you a psychologist?" I turned around and said, "I'm the trained psychologist, but he has all the smarts!"

IACC Conference next week here in Oklahoma. Eighty Romanian officials are coming. *YIKES* Romania is taking over Oklahoma City...at least I can understand some of what they are saying. It will be good to see my dad - although he will most likely be busy with the conference.

And thus ends my update...If you all are ever in OKC, please stop by!
